This is kind of amazing.
I can’t believe how warm it is!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
This is my first Thanksgiving “at home” since college I think, but I haven’t spent a Thanksgiving with my parents since I graduated from high school. It’s feeling a little extra lonely this year since I’m not on tour spending the holiday with my tour family. But this is going to be a good day I think. I’m having dinner at my friend Erica’s house, it should be a nice gathering of friends. My first Thanksgiving in San Diego! I’ll be home in Hawaii for Christmas and New Years, it will be nice to see my parents then.
This photo is from a BBQ that my family hosted at our house when Plain White T’s were in town. It was a really great night. I’m so grateful for all the wonderful people in my life, and for having amazing parents who love and support me.

Survey: 30 Questions About My 30 Top Artists.
1. How did you get into 29?
Acceptance - I was working at Columbia Records as an A&R scout when Acceptance released their full-length record on the label.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 2?
Hanson - “MMMBop” duh.
3. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Dashboard Confessional - sadly, I own no physical copies of their records. To be honest though, I never really became a fan until last year when we did Rock Band Tour with DC. But I’m pretty sure I have almost everything ever released by Chris and the band on my iPod.
4. What is your favorite song by 15?
Alkaline Trio - I’m definitely more of a new school Alk3 fan, so probably “Mercy Me” or “This Could Be Love” or “Calling All Skeletons.”
5. What is your favorite song by 5?
Say Anything - first of all, I can’t believe Say Anything is all the way up at #5 on my last.fm…. I used to HATE Say Anything haha. With that said, I love the new album and I really enjoyed the one before it. So I’m gonna go with “Baby Girl, I’m a Blur” and “Less Cute” (the horn arrangement is so damn good).

Parachute - every song on their album makes me happy! Seriously, not an exaggeration.

Empires - “Spit In The Dark”
8. What is a good memory you have involving 30?
All-American Rejects - hanging out with Tim on Warped 05.

Kings Of Leon - I don’t have a favorite, but if I’d have to pick one I guess it would be Jared Followill.
14. Have you ever seen 14 live?
fun. - YES! Finally saw them a week and a half ago, they were amazing live. Can’t wait to see them play again.
15. What is a good memory involving 27?
As Tall As Lions - Julio pouring a cup of his own pee on my friend’s back… they were having girl issues, so I doubt either of them considers it a good memory but I always thought it was funny. ATAL are amazing live, seeing them play is always a good memory in the making.

Breaking Dawn spoof with Peter Facinelli and a bunch of really cute husky puppies
that’s how i started, and look at me 6 years later now. it’s probably the best choice i’ve ever made.
a friend bet me that i couldnt go 3 weeks without meat. i’m the type that thrills off of a dare or bet so i, of course, accepted. i had no idea what vegetarians even ate besides like… boring salad & bread. it only took some googling on ‘easy vegetarian substitutes’ & ‘fast vegetarian meals’ & i was sold. i couldnt believe how easy it was, just to buy frozen faux meats and make them like you would regular ones. i had only been going strong without meat for 2 weeks and i noticed my body just THANKING me through feeling amazing & feeling awesome and i was like…yep. this is forever. then i found out 2 years ago i was lactose intolerant (since it can develop in anyone from the absence of dairy) and i had to alter my diet even more. i do miss cheese sometimes, but it’s seriously not hard, and you feel so much better every single day.
so just saying, why not try it? it’s one of the best choices i’ve ever made. and it’s not for a person, or an organization, or any reason besides the fact that meat is flesh, and to me, there’s not difference between the flesh on my body and the flesh on a little animal body. it’s still flesh, and that disgusts me. NOT to mention, what they pump (horomone wise) into the animals they’re killing to sell for meat… and those are going into YOUR BODY causing future weight gain, horomones (giving you girls mustaches haha, and also harming you guys, vise versa… seriously) causing fatigue, illnesses, colds, body odor, diseases, etc.
i say this all cause a have 4 people tell me just tonight that they’ve made the choice to go vegetarian/vegan randomly an they’ve never been more happy. even asking for thanksgiving recipe ideas! i’m planning mine as i type. mmmm …stoked!
:) so, good luck! and reblog if you want!
cheers,
min
I’m like Mindy in the sense that I dared myself to go veg - or more specifically in my case, pescetarian (I eat seafood - giving up sushi is NOT an option). Back in June, I decided I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could make it through our entire summer tour without eating meat. I successfully accomplished it, and now it’s November and I’m still doing well following my original challenge. I’ll admit though, I love food in general and if I see something that looks particularly delicious, I won’t deprive myself of it. I’ve had a bite of meat here and there over the past 6 months, but only that. I also quit drinking soda a few years back and it feels great.
Mindy, if you have some good vegetarian recipes for me I would love to have some to add to my very minimal cooking abilities. Right now, making stir fry with white rice is one of my favorite vegetarian meals.
